A lyrical and breathless story of frail flesh and blood and the will of a little horse, Seabiscuit. I can be a little hard-bitten at times, but their story often brought a welling of emotion within me. The country, it would seem, could use another Seabiscuit to distract it from its current problems. Sadly that day and time are gone-forever What a great story and a racehorse of a book! It took just one week to read it after owning the book for several years. Best of luck and fortune |

| I would like to tell Laura Hillenbrand that she wrote one of the best books that I've ever read! I'd never been interested in horse racing before, but I found this book riveting. As a writer, I'm amazed at how she was able to piece together her research on Seabiscuit to produce such an extremely detailed account of the horse and the important people/events in his life. |

Hi I saw the movie a few years back but only now appreciate the story about the life of Seabiscuit. I found the book amongst hundreds of others at our MWR in FOB Union in Iraq. (I work here as a security specialist). May I say that you opened my eyes to the world of horses and horse racing. I really enjoyed reading this masterpiece. You brought Seabiscuit back to life for me. Thanks a million. Grove Smith |

| Laura, I read your amazing book Seabiscuit a few years ago and absolutely loved it - I am so impressed at your accomplishment, especially when battling health issues of your own! This is the only book I have ever read, and then turned back to page one and read it immediately again! Thank you so much for this labor of love. |

I would like some help regarding the Seabiscuit. Tom Clark was the man who supplied the special minerals that got such a remarkable recovery for the buscuit. There was a group picture of the Bisciut, Tom Clark and the owner thanking him for the liquid. I would like to get a copy of the picture if possible. Tom work with the horse also. Thank you for what ever help you can give. Wm Hamel 619 559 8469 San Diego supplementtester.com |

Dear Ms. Hillenbrand, I firmly believe that the confluence of their lives was no mere coincidence, but rather a pre-ordained celestial alignment. And fortunately for them, their legacies have been faithfully enshrined by a journeyman writer many decades removed from when they last blazed over America’s premier racetracks. A brilliant effort to be sure! |

Hi Laura, Congratulations on your great success with Seabisquit. I am also a CFS & Fibro sufferer. I have been denied SSDI & have an appeal in now. It's been three years. When I learned of your succes in writing Seabisquit, I decided to write a novel myself. It is Christian fiction. I have struggled, to no avail, to find a way to get my foot in the door to publish it. I realize this is an odd request, but is there any way you could be of help to me in finding a publisher?? B Brown |

Ms. Hillenbrand, First-I wish you the best with your battle with CFS-give it hell. I am doing research on Ethel V Mars(Milky Way Stables and owner of Gallabadion 1940 Derby winner) My father and grand father had a unique relationship with Ms. Mars and I would like to put some of the pieces together. Any help on where I can find records of her racing horses? If you respond- I will tell you more about the story- Possible book/movie. Best to you |

| It was my good fortune to find a copy of the collector's edition at a library book sale, in pristine condition no less. I carried it & read it for days-the tears flowed, the hair stood up on the back of my neck for the Hundred Grander, the match race w/ War Admiral, and so much more. Thank you for this most amazing story. |

| We visited the property over the weekend, although it is off season and tours are not available, we were greeted and allowed to take pictures from a distance. With the exception of the newly restored barn, the property looks run-down. I was wondering where all the proceeds from the movie went? The story of SB is one of my all time favorites, we left the site humbled by the experience of standing in areas that such tragic but inspirational moments took place. |

| Ms Hillenbrand,.thanks so much for writing this remarkable and inspiring account of not just Seabiscuit but the men that nurtured his every talent! The "Biscuit" was an inspiration then..and is even more so today! You need to be given much praise for the remarkable story you have told in this book and for having been consultant on the movie! Both have inspired us both...Shelley is a person with a disability..and we all need heroes, inspirations.,.you have given us both! All the best! |

Laura, Thank you for writing this book. When I began reading it, I never dreamed that I would become so absorbed in the lives of these men and this horse. You have an exceptional gift in putting into words the thoughts, feelings, and personalities of your characters. I felt that I was there with them during each phase of their lives. Thank you, also, for giving the gift of Seabiscuit, his pride, heart and spirit, to all of us. It has certainly enriched my life, as I am sure it has many others. |

Dear Ms. Hillenbrand. My wife was diagnosed with CFIDs in 2005. Our lives changed. We have found some incredible Drs.(Peterson in NV & his new CFIDs research center)& Chia in Los Angeles.Hopefully you have improved, but if not their work is promising. My wife has found incred-ible inspiration from you and your writing, and she is attempting, very slowly, to write a short story about someone with CFIDs to educate the public. Could recommend someone to help her edit/publicize/ her work? thanks! |
